Description
In mid 2005 Phobus was new to ZDoom and keen to try and learn everything he could about modding for it, so he got to work on the Water Resource Wad, which was planned to be a pack featuring water effects, decorations, water based monsters, a couple of aquatics based weapons and various other things.
However, this was a lot of work, and involved an awful lot of spriting (gets dull after a while). So eventually Phobus left it, and just released what he'd done, with there always being the possiblity of further additions at a later date.
Features:
- A technical help text file showing how to use the more complex features
- Waterfall and drip textures by Nick Baker
- Doom Alpha flats recoloured to be water by Enjay (features water, east/west and north/south bridge flats)
- Water spray, bubble and rain effects by solarsnowfall
- Sound effects collected from free sound databases for waterfalls, rain and the like
- Water splashes put together by Caligari_87 using HeXen graphics
- Four new sea-based monsters, with sounds. These are the Fish (a small, melee monster with low health), the Jelly (a cacodemon sized monster featuring a flame-thrower of sorts and a melee attack), the Nautilus (a large boss style lobster monster, with defenses, multiple attacks and an area of effect damage whilst moving) and the Starfish (wall, floor and ceiling varients, all serving as large barrels, in effect)
- ANIMDEFS for various water warp styles and the included textures/flats
This is free for use, as long as credit is given appropriately.
