Actors are movable objects that may be placed in a map and may be controlled by the player or by the game engine's artificial intelligence (AI). In addition, they may also be subject to game physics. Actors include the player, enemies, items and special markers that are required to make a playable map in ZDoom. Actors are usually placed as things when creating the map in the editor; however, there are several DECORATE and ACS functions that can make things appear ("Spawn") during gameplay; and some things such as player starts or polyobject points do not correspond to actors.
