The idgames archive is the semi-official FTP repository for all community-created Doom engine content, currently maintained by Bill Koch (aka Bloodshedder) and Eric Baker (aka The Green Herring). Doomworld provides a database interface that allows to search the archive, read the mods' accompanying text files, download from various mirrors, and rate and comment files. Although the two services (idgames archive and Doomworld database) are distinct and hosted by different servers, they are often confused together.
