Typesetting

You are correct that real-world books may use fixed-width typefaces. But do all books?

More importantly, what works in print does not necessarily work on screen, and I think this is one of those cases. To my eye, seeing all that Courier mixed in was incredibly ugly and distracting. Note that the MSDN Library, probably the most-used online documentation, does not make liberal use of fixed-width typefaces, yet that does not hinder its readability. -- Randy Heit 21:38, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
